Free Kindle book helps land major publishing deal

While there have been a few posts about eBooks dragging down royalty payments for authors, here's some positive news. Gayle Trent had a deal with an indie publishing house - BelleBooks. When they offered a free copy of one of her books, it shot to #3 on the Kindle bestseller list.

Shortly after this occured, she received an email from Robert Gottlieb of Trident Media Group and late last week signed with them.

So BelleBooks' loss was Gayle Trent and Trident Media Group's gain, it would appear.
